Today we had a wonderful day alhamdulillah!!

Writing: Students worked on their rough draft and others worked on their final copy alhamdulillah.

Social studies:  Students are doing their oral presentations. Thursday April 30th  Raya, Aymen,Unais and Unais  will be doing their oral presentations please make sure to practice.

Gym:  Students had a wonderful day doing gymnastics today Masha Allah.

Islamic Studies:  Students reviewed why they should obey parents and the importance of cleanliness.

Reminders:

• during last week the school promoted waste free lunches,  most of the students brought their their lunches in plastic container masha Allah.  I would like to continue this till the end of the year insha Allah. 

• Please start collecting news papers and plastic bottle caps. I need all of you to help please.

• Pouches:  if your child does not have one please make sure you purchase one or let me know as I have three that I purchased this weekend.

Math :  We measured the area and length of different objects around the class using different units of measurement page 196-199.  Students must complete page 196 for homework. Please complete the home connection portion.

Computer:  Masha Allah the students were enjoying computer class so much I could not help it but to share with parents today.  I was able to send picture home using Dojo masha Allah.

Social studies:  Students started to do their oral presentations. Monday   Hala, Fae, Akif and Rim will be doing their oral presentations please make sure to practice.

Reading: Do not forget to ask your child about "My Fathers Dragon". Chapter three must be returned with the homework package.  I am sending the readers log today.
Reading groups meet up today.

Art:  the students worked on their art portfolios today. I need all the students to bring an old t-shirt for next week.  If they do not bring one they will not be able to take part of the art.

• Plastic Bottle Cap Competition
• we are having a competition between all classrooms (JK-Grade 10) to see who can recycle the most plastic bottle caps! We will be collecting them until the end of the year and inshallah will use them to create a school collaborative art project!

We did many activities related to Earth day and related them into the curriculum.

Sr. Madline came in to read chapter 3 of "My Father's Dragon", please take the time to ask your child about the story. This will help them once you get to work on it insha Allah. I will be reading it again tomorrow or Friday Insha Allah.  All of the "Readers Logs"  must be returned on

Gym:  Students played soccer.

Reading:  Students had a chance to read their library books and read to their friends.

Math :  We measured different objects around the class using pop-cycle sticks page 187.  Please complete the home connection portion.

Social Studies:  we review some of the community helpers and sang songs about them.

Reminders:

There is a toy sale tomorrow.  Please give your child some money so they can purchase some items.

Do not forget to work on the country project,  presentations will start next week.

Computer Class :  some students had the option to work on Raz-kids or on other educational games.

Guided Reading: Tr. Naaz joined us and we did some guided reading. Masha'Allah the students are really enjoying our guided reading classes!

Math:  We wrapped up the unit and started on our new unit"linear measurement and Area".  Please read and sign page 182.

Quran: We Will be having a test on Surah Al-Layl on Monday April-13-15

Reminders:

If you are interested in ordering from Scholastics please send your form by Monday the latest.

Weekly homework is due on Monday.  Please make sure that your child completes chapter one of "My Fathers Dragon".

Please make sure that you send proper clothing for your child.  If you can please purchase a pair of plash pants  protect their uniform from getting dirty.

Reading:  I read chapter one of "My Father's Dragon" for the second time today.  Ask your child to retell you the story and I will be sent the reading log toady.  Please scribe for them insha Allah.

Quran: Please practice Surah Al-layl Ayah 15 to 18.

Social Studies:  Students reviewed about community helpers.

I hope and pray that all of you are doing well, Inshaa Allah. Today we had a wonderful day alhamdulilah!  It was very nice to see all the students ready to learn.

Writing:  students finished working on their first rough draft for their book.  We will continue to work on this project for the next few weeks insha Allah.

Spelling: students are learning words with the S blend.

Math:  Students are learning about money please practice the coin values with your child.  They worked on page 57 today.  Please do the home connection portion at home.

Quran: Please practice Surah Al-layl Ayah 15 to 18.

Social Studies:  Students worked on their community. 

Reminders:

• Homework was sent home on Tuesday. For the oral presentations all the students were given a country which they need to research.
• The students will have their weekly spelling test on Tuesday insha Allah.
