Note From Tr.Said

Assalam alaikoum wa rahmato Allah Dear parent,

I hope that my email finds you in a good health and Iman,
  
Grades 6A and 6B invite you to our French Café (called Café de France) onTuesday May 2, 2017 Insha’a Allah.
We will be serving light snacks and drinks that we find, usually, in a French café like: sandwiches, café (coffee), crêpes (French pancakes), gâteaux (cake) and biscuits (cookies).
Students from grade 6A and 6B will be waiters and servers.
Students from JK to G6 will practice French language in a real situation. Throughout the day.
Proceeds from the sale will be donated back to the school.
Help us make this event a success.

Note From Tr. Said

Asslam alikum Dear Parents, I hope my email finds you in   good health and Eman.

Below are some update from our 
French class.
This month our grade 1 students will be continuing to practice simple conversations, asking and answering  short questions about ourselves such as, comment vas-tu? Quelle est ta couleur préférée?   and talking about days of the week and the weather. They are learning about classroom objects, and prepositions (sur, sous, dans, devant, derrière). We have also be reviewing a few new French songs.
We will also be reviewing the vocabulary for the story , OU EST MON CHIEN ?( restaurant, chef, cherche, trouve, content, se cache, chiots, court, crie) .

·   Play rehearsal – introduction of the play Ou est mon chien ?
·  Introduction of the second IPG activity – colouring the characters.
·  Simple questions based on the story – les questions totales.
·   Introduction of the characters -  Marie – Suzanne – Policier – chef Robert – Madame Tremblay – chien Minuit - Pico la chienne.
·   We did the following activities related to the story :
1- Qu’est ce qui se passe ? ( students should draw a line that identifies the picture as it corresponds to the sentence, using basic vocabulary and very simple language structure and copy the sentence on the line. )
2-  Fais un dessin :  students should read and respond briefly to the written material ( draw a picture)


Please encourage your child to read the story I sent you and practice with him/her the vocabulary.

Quran update

Assalamo alaikom dear parents,

Alhamdulillah, we have finished in Quraan surat Al-lail. The student had the chance to do the following ( material taught in Arabic):

Knows that this surat contrasts the two kinds of people in the world ( the ones who devote their life to good and the ones who devote their lives to pleasing their desires. The final destination of each path.

Knows the meaning of the Ayat in general and the following words (الليل, النّهار الذّكر, الأنثى, نارا, نعمة).

Makes and enjoys an activity as you see in the pictures.

Class Update

As-salamu-alaikum wa Rahmatullah


Dear Parents,

I hope and pray that all of you are doing well, In shaa Allah. 

This week was wonderful alhamdulillah!

Students in the class have been given the responsibility to be recess leaders. A big Masha Allah to those students for doing such a great job.

Writing:  students had a chance to write in their journals about the seven wonders of the world and observations they have made about and eagle we have been watching.

Islamic Studies:  in Islamic Studies we have been learning about the life of Prophet Muhammed (p).  If you have any story books you can send them with your child and I will read to them.
Please help your child learn the Tashahud I will be asking them on Tuesday January 31st.

Math: We are working on 2D and 3D shapes.

Reading:  Students have been divided into groups, during reading time students are asked to read a book and are assigned various activities to correlate with the book they have been assigned.
Please make sure to always read with your child at least 10-15 minutes a daily.

Library:  Please make sure that your child returns their library books every Wednesday.

Science: We have finished this unit and will be concentrating on Science.  

Social Studies: 
We learning about our local communities and learning about the different signs(symbols ) we see around our community.  Help your child identify different signs and their meaning.

Spelling:  Students will have their spelling test this Wednesday November 30th insha Allah.

  • Please practice writing simple sentences with your child using the spelling words.  When printing make sure your child leaves finger space between the words and prints legibly. 


Physical education:  We have been starting our gym class with a warm up followed by an activity.  Students have been learning many of the safety rules for gym class and learning how to follow instructions during their class.  



Reminders:


  • please have your child dress for the weather.  They should have a hat, gloves or mittens, neck warmer and boots and snow pants.
  • Always keep and extra pair of socks in your child school bag as they often get wet.
We will be having garbage free lunches every Tuesday and Thursday insha Allah.  The students are doing great masha Allah.
