Classwork and Homework

Today We had a wonderful day alhamdulillah!

Writing:  students had a chance to talk about Hajj. Students wrote a sentence about Eid.

Math:  students practice estimating.  They also had a chance to write numerals.  Please do the home connection on page 36-37.  Please practice with your child.  Please do not do work in the work book that is not assigned.  If you like to do extra work please do it on a separate piece of paper.

Art:  Student are finishing the art work we started last week.




Reminders:
* The Terry Fox run pledge forms were sent home last week.  We talked about how to have people sponsor them and practised in class.  Keep the forms and money at home till further notice. 

* Do not forget to fill the Hot lunch and milk form.  

* All the students need a second pouch for their Arabic books.

*We are collecting non-perishable food items for the sadaqa food bank.

Classwork and Homework

Today We had a wonderful day alhamdulillah!

Writing:  students had a chance to talk about Hajj. Students wrote a sentence about Dhul-hijjah.

Spelling:  Student worked on page 12 in their workbook they wrote letters x, y and z.   

Math:  students used ten frames to compare numbers to 20.  They also had a chance to write numerals.  Please do the home connection on page 33.  Please practice with your child.  Please do not do work in the work book that is not assigned.  If you like to do extra work please do it on a separate piece of paper.

Social Studies: students disused rules and responsibilities of a Muslim.  We recited dua'a al-hijram and explained why we say it.

* Hot lunch form will be sent yesterday.

Spelling:  Student worked on page 11 in their workbook they wrote letters U, V and W.  We are almost done all the alphabet.

Math:  students used ten frames to compare numbers to 10.  They also had a chance to write numerals.  Please do the home connection on page 31 and 32.

Gym:  students did a warm up exercise and played dead ant.

Reading:  Students had a chance to read level books as I walked around and took notes.

Reminders:
* The Terry fox run is tomorrow please make sure your child has a bottle of water and proper shoes to walk or run in.

* The Terry Fox run pledge form was sent home today.  We talked about what Terry Fox goal was yesterday please ask your child about it.

* From time time we have students who forget to bring in their lunch bags and need a snack.  I would like to have have a "snack bank" that we can keep in our class in case of emergency.   If you like to help you may send in cereal bars, cheese crackers, juice, cereal or any other non perishable snacks.

Computer:  students had a chance to go to the computer class and play games on starfall and tvokids.

Writing:  I explained how we will use the journals and went over the basic rules. Students copied a simple sentence in their journals today.

Math:  students used five frames to compare numbers to 5.  They also had a chance to write numerals and number words.  Please do the home connection on page 29.

Art:  students are working on an abstract painting based on the artist Wassily Kandinsky.


Two form were sent home today the Terry Fox run  and the milk form.

Writing:  I explained how we will use the journals and went over the basic rules. Students copied a simple sentence in their journals today.

Spelling:  students are still practising printing letters both lower case and upper case.  Page 8 

Math:  students wrote numbers in different ways.  Please do the home connection on page 27-28.

Quran Teacher

Assalamu Alaykum,

My name is Ibtissam Chehade, I am the Quran teacher for levels 1, 2 and 3. I am certified to teach in tajwid, as I have received an ijaza about 10 years ago. 

I have also been teaching quran and tajwid for more than four years at Al-furqan and Dar Assuna. I have taught both adults and children.
