This weekend I did not give any homework due the timing the children did not have time to write their homework. I will leave this as an option but they may do one letter and one number if you wish, from thier blue folder.
Students will be taking the CTBS test next week. We will start on Tuesday the 24th and complete the test on the 26th Insha Allah. These tree days students are required to come to school on time as the test will be given at 8: 55 am sharp and finish at 11:00. Students will not be given extra time to complete the test. This will be the initial assessment and another test will be given mid May to see the progress.The grade one students will be tested on the following subjects:
Language arts
-Vocabulary
-Word Analysis
-Listening
-Language
Math / Science
-Math concepts
-Math problems
-Math computation

-Source of Information
Reading: do read the booklets that I am sending with them. I have started to assess their reading and noticed that some of the students do not know the sounds of each letter in the alphabet if you can please have your child listen to this youtube video to learn the sounds it would be great https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BELlZKpi1Zs
Math: number revision 1-20 forward and backward.
Spelling: We just got our spelling books Al hamdulillah. I do need you to put sticky plastic on the books if you can please buy the plastic this weekend that will be great. I will send them home on Monday Insha Allah.
The reason for the plastic is so they stay in good shape the entire year.
I will be sending the math workbook as well. Please wrap both book the spelling book and the math book.
